Wine of the Month
April 2026
A high south-facing plot, with gravelly granite soil, Clos de l’Écu is cultivated using organic farming practices and is always one of Domaine Faivley’s first plots to ripen.
The wine is a deep purple-ruby color with bright aromas of red and black fruits. The lively palate is the essence of Burgundy, with light acidity, red berries, spicy notes, and just a touch of mint. The lingering finish is supple and silky.
An elegant wine, ready to enjoy while still relatively young but which will also age beautifully in the bottle.
Perfect foil for rich beef, lamb or veal dishes. Also terrific with duck, goose and game.
Fragrant and elegant with aromas of red berries and summer flowers, this wine is graceful, but there is excellent underlying power on the mid-palate, with fine tannins developing beautifully on the long finish.
